FBK is seeking a UX Technologist to join the Digital Health Innovation Laboratory (DHILab), a leading research unit within the Digital Health & Wellbeing Center. If you want to apply user-centered design to challenges in digital health, this role gives you the opportunity to work on products developed together with clinicians, researchers, and patients. You will contribute to the design of interfaces and interactive prototypes for web and mobile platforms, ensuring that complex healthcare needs are translated into clear and usable experiences. At DHILab, part of FBK’s Digital Health & Wellbeing Center in Trento, you will join a multidisciplinary environment where design and research progress side by side. In this role, you will design user-centered digital health products for web and mobile platforms, conducting user research to inform your design decisions. You will create wireframes and high-fidelity prototypes using tools like Figma, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure design feasibility. Additionally, you will contribute to the development of design systems, support co-design sessions, and help integrate user feedback into the design process. You will also have the chance to contribute to research papers that explore the intersection of UX design and digital health.
Requirements
The following qualifications are required and will guide the candidate selection process:
- Master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Design, Digital Media, or a related field;
- At least 1 year of experience in UX design, preferably in the healthcare sector;
- Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD;
- Knowledge of user-centered design methodologies, including co-design workshops and paper prototyping;
- Strong understanding of accessibility and inclusive design principles;
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams;
- Excellent communication skills in both English and Italian (oral and written);
- A proactive and goal-oriented approach to design and research activities.
Preferred requirements
While not mandatory, the following qualifications will be considered as added value during the selection process:
- Experience in designing digital health applications or working within healthcare environments;
- Familiarity with front-end development principles and practical experience in CSS;
- Knowledge of health data privacy regulations and best practices for digital health solutions;
- Previous experience contributing to academic publications or research projects.
