FBK is seeking a Backend Developer to join the Digital Health Innovation Laboratory (DHILab), part of the Digital Health & Wellbeing Center. What to expect
If you want to contribute to the evolution of digital health services, this role allows you to work on backend solutions that support real clinical workflows and patient-facing applications. You will help further develop the TreC platform—a cloud-based, GDPR-compliant personal health record system—by designing and deploying microservices and supporting digital therapies. Working within DHILab at FBK’s Digital Health & Wellbeing Center, you will collaborate with developers, technologists, researchers, and healthcare professionals in a multidisciplinary environment. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the application services of the TreC platform, managing the deployment of containerized microservices in a cloud environment, and contributing to the e-learning platform developed within a European project. You will collaborate closely with software developers, senior technologists, and researchers to ensure the technical robustness and scalability of the platform. Additionally, you will design new software components and contribute to major software revisions, always keeping in mind the needs of the healthcare domain and the users.
Requirements
The ideal candidate should have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field;
- Strong programming skills in Java (preferred), Python, or JavaScript, with experience in frameworks such as Spring Boot, Angular, or Vue;
- Solid understanding of microservice architectures, containerization, and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes);
- Experience with cloud-based infrastructures and SQL/document-oriented databases;
- At least 1 year of experience in developing production-grade software in the healthcare domain;
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team;
- Proficiency in both Italian and English (oral and written).
Preferred qualifications
While not mandatory, the following will be considered an advantage:
- Experience in research projects or collaboration with research teams;
- Familiarity with the Moodle platform.
