Skycharge is a technology company founded in 2014 and now headquartered in Berlin, developing autonomous charging systems for drones and robots. The company designs hardware and software infrastructure to make autonomous operations more scalable, with particular attention to BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight) scenarios. Skycharge solutions include programmable automatic charging systems, contact components, integration with docking stations, and software tools for configuring, managing and monitoring charging processes. The system is designed to integrate with different drone and robot platforms, including through third-party solutions and contacts. The team combines expertise in the commercial drone sector with experience in aerospace engineering, electronics and mechanics. Its approach is focused on research and development, with particular attention to autonomous charging systems, software stacks and services connected to infrastructure for drone operations.
In 2026, Skycharge launched a new production site in Rovereto, at Progetto Manifattura. This marks the development phase of the company’s Italian production operations: those joining now will contribute to setting up the workshop, organising the first production processes and developing manufacturing capacity locally. The Rovereto site is located within Progetto Manifattura, Trentino Sviluppo’s hub dedicated to green innovation, which hosts companies, startups and research organisations working in areas such as sustainable mobility, clean energy, the circular economy and technologies for quality of life.
