AMIGO is an Italian SME founded in 2013, originally established in Rome and now also operating in Rovereto, where it has an office within Progetto Manifattura. The company was among the first in Italy to develop climate services, turning climate data and scientific knowledge into tools that support operational and strategic decision-making.
AMIGO develops solutions for assessing, managing and forecasting climate-related risks in sectors including energy, agriculture, insurance, infrastructure and resource management. Its solutions combine data from satellite observations, in-situ measurements, climate models and forecasts, using data science, artificial intelligence, statistical analysis and numerical modelling techniques. The team brings together expertise in climatology, extreme-event statistics, software development, data science and AI. AMIGO’s approach is based on close interaction with end users, with the aim of turning complex climate information into practical tools that can be integrated into decision-making processes.
Among the solutions developed by the company is TERRA, a platform for climate risk assessment and forecasting, with applications in insurance and finance, agriculture, infrastructure management and utilities. AMIGO also takes part in national and European research and innovation projects and collaborates with universities, research centres and international organisations, including the World Meteorological Organization and the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts.
Working at AMIGO means contributing to projects where climate science, data and technology are applied to concrete challenges, from energy production forecasting and climate risk management in agriculture to the resilience of infrastructure and territories.
