Sontheim Industrie Elektronik is looking for a Software Engineer to strengthen its team in Rovereto. The role combines hands-on software development with direct technical interaction with italian customers in the agricultural and industrial machinery sectors.
What to expect
You will join the italian branch of an international company with almost thirty years of experience in electronics, automation, diagnostics and connectivity. The Rovereto office is still a compact and growing team, connected to the company’s headquarters in Germany. This means working in a local environment where responsibilities are visible, while being part of a structured technical group that develops solutions for OEMs and industrial customers. The role is based in Rovereto and includes roughly one business trip per month, either to Italian clients or to the company’s offices in Germany. The onboarding starts with three weeks of training at the German headquarters, designed to help you understand the company’s technologies, tools and way of working. Once settled in, the position moves to a hybrid setup, with one to two days of remote work per week. The gross annual salary ranges from €38,000 to €44,000, with clear objective-based growth steps. Holiday entitlement is 26 days per year.Position
The selected candidate will focus primarily on developing and maintaining Windows applications in C#, while also contributing to Linux-side development in C++ and working with XAML on existing and new interfaces. AI-assisted coding tools are used as a standard part of the development workflow. Alongside the technical work, the role involves visiting Italian prospects and customers, supporting technical conversations directly, and translating customer needs into concrete input for the development teams in Germany.
Requirements
The role requires:
- at least 2 years of relevant professional experience in software development;
- strong, hands-on C# development for Windows;
- fluent Italian and fluent English;
- strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trust with customers and stakeholders.
German is not required.
Preferred requirements
The following will be considered a plus:
- experience with C++ development on Linux;
- practical familiarity with XAML;
- prior exposure to the agricultural or industrial machinery sector.
