Facility Officer For The Research Infrastructure Of The Sustainable Energy Center

Ingegneri

FBK is looking for a Facility Officer to support the research infrastructure of the Sustainable Energy Center. The role is aimed at candidates interested in managing advanced laboratory environments and contributing to experimental research activities in the field of sustainable energy. The position is based in Trentino, within an internationally recognized research institution.

What to expect

Working in the Sustainable Energy Center means spending your days inside laboratories where materials, devices, and ideas are tested for real. As a Facility Officer, you will help keep these spaces safe, efficient, and ready for research — from hydrogen studies to battery-related experiments and renewable energy technologies. The role is based in Trentino, Northern Italy, and places you at the intersection of operations and research support. You’ll find an environment that values precision, clear procedures, and collaboration across different scientific backgrounds. FBK offers flexible working conditions, training opportunities, meal vouchers, wellbeing services, and practical support with relocation and daily administration.

Position

In this role, you will take care of the daily operation of the laboratories within the Sustainable Energy Center. You will coordinate safety procedures, contribute to risk assessments with the designated safety officers, and ensure that all activities follow current regulations. Your work will include managing equipment usage, overseeing access control, organizing the warehouse, and handling hazardous materials when required. You will also support ISO 9001 quality processes and assist researchers with routine experimental tasks, helping maintain a reliable, well-organized, and safe environment where projects can progress efficiently.

Requirements

The following qualifications are mandatory and will guide the selection process:

  • Master’s degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering;
  • hands-on experience with laboratory activities, ideally involving hydrogen or battery technologies;
  • knowledge of safety regulations and risk-assessment methodologies;
  • good communication skills and a collaborative, proactive mindset;
  • fluency in Italian and English (written and spoken).

Preferred Qualifications

These competences are not required but will be considered advantageous:

  • license for handling toxic gases;
  • familiarity with programming languages (e.g., Python, C++);
  • prior experience in laboratory management or responsibilities related to safety and quality systems.

How to Apply

Submit your application by November 27, 2025 via jobs.fbk.eu including the following documents in PDF format:

  • a detailed CV with relevant experience;
